Course Description:
Middle School is an exciting time in your life! This course is an intervention class that addresses the needs of readers through differentiated instruction, adaptive software, and explicit instruction in reading, writing, and vocabulary skills.

Class Expectations
Grading Policies (district policies)
Summative grades (tests) are 70% of the final average. Grades below 80 on a test may be raised to an 80 if the student attends a tutoring session and is retested within 5 days. Each quarter must have a minimum of 3 summative grades.
Formative grades (daily work) are 30% of the final average. It is the teacher’s discretion whether a failing formative grade can be raised. Each quarter must have a minimum of 10 formative grades. Late work will have 10 points deducted for each day that it is late up to 3 days. On the 4th day, the work will not be accepted.
